Today is the 13th "World Sepsis Day". World Sepsis Day was jointly initiated by the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA) and its founding members (WFSICCM, WFPICCS, WFCCN, ISF, SA) on September 13, 2012. The slogan is "Stop Sepsis, Save Lives".
Sepsis is a fatal disease caused by infection, which can be caused by any type of infection. If sepsis is not detected and treated quickly, it can lead to shock, multi-organ failure, and even death. Sepsis is one of the main causes of admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) and the leading cause of death among patients in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Unfortunately, even at this moment, every year, about 50 million people worldwide suffer from sepsis, and 1 in 5 deaths is related to sepsis. More than 11 million people die from it every year, equivalent to 1 case every 2.8 seconds.
The PCT and IL-6 joint testing could be of help:
1. Higher sensitivity and specificity for early warning of infection and diagnosis of severe pneumonia, sepsis, etc.;
2. Easier to distinguish between G+ and G- bacteria;
3. Guide the rational use of antibacterial drugs;
4. Diagnosis of neonatal sepsis
Hotgen MQ60 series mono-test chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzers can detect more than 100 items such as STAT, myocardium, inflammation, thyroid function, hormones, and etc. The reagents are packaged in single cartridge format, and can be freely combined. Simple to operate and cost-saving, this sepsis diagnostic solution is suitable for rapid testing in outpatient and emergency departments.
